Moss Art & Decor

Hello!

Welcome to my little green space.
I’m Jonathan Ellis. Bostonian Fine Gardener by day, Moss Art craftier by night. From Boston to Nashville to Berlin, I’ve always admired and enjoyed amazing moss art pieces. But Admiration can only get you so far, thus in 2023 I took up the craft myself.

“Bring in Nature to bring yours out”

Nature spans the seas, the mountains, all the way to space. Yet, plants are the prime icons of nature and rightfully so. They are reminders of life and connectors to the world. Being that they also serve as a means to express ourselves. I like to think this is why we call it “Moss Art”. More so, this became the basis of my mantra “Bring in nature to bring yours out” as I continued with my craft.

Where things grow from here.

“Moss art may be newly developed hobby, but it’s served me quite well as a creative outlet. I take pride in my works as they continue to adorn the homes of family, friends, and my own. But why stop there? Why not make my work available to others so they .can “bring in nature” too? Sounds like time to set up shop”, is what I originally posted back in early 2024.

Since then, I’ve had the experience of vending at my first art market that October. Fun and insightful, I’m glad I got the chance to do it. I’m even more glad to say it has encouraged me push forward with getting my art from my place to yours. That means setting up shop here on this site. The shop will be for my smaller pieces as they are my main focus (for now). If you’re more analog when it comes to shopping then good news there too. I’ll continue to do art markets around Boston (I’ll be sure to post/notify when and where). While my smaller pieces will be the priority for sale, I’ll also take commissions for larger (to an extent) projects. Finally, I’m going to continue to make pieces for myself and share them here in the gallery.
